Acclaimed Bristol-based four piece Firewoodisland have released their brand new single ‘Dearest Brother’, the first taste of the band’s forthcoming debut album due early 2018.
 
‘Dearest Brother’ is a beautiful folk-pop anthem, leading with delicate guitars before breaking into the huge sky-high choruses and souring harmonies – a sound they’ve christened ‘mountain pop’. The result is reminiscent of the likes of Fleet Foxes, Of Monsters & Men and Imagine Dragons.
 
Regarding the single the band says, “‘Dearest Brother’ is a song of compassion and tough love. It’s about watching friends getting hurt by bad decisions, letting them know that you’re there for them and about taking the brunt – as long as they do something to help themselves.”
 
The quartet, composed of multi-instrumentalists Stian Vedoy, Abi Eleri, Dylan Jones and Steve Allen, have clocked up praise from the likes of Q Magazine, Clash, The 405 and many more with the release of their 2014 debut EP lld and the following Dome EP last year. The band have also received great radio support from the likes of Radio 1, BBC 6Music, BBC Introducing, Amazing Radio and more.
 
Firewoodisland are playing a three-date UK tour in support of ‘Dearest Brother’ throughout October. They will play London’s Servant Jazz Quarters on October 16th, the Exchange, Bristol on October 21st and finish at The Nest, Bath on October 28th. Tickets are available through Music Glue.
