Panto King, TV and West End star Jonathan Wilkes will lead a world-class cast in the title role at

Aylesbury Waterside Theatre’s second magical family pantomime – the sparkling Dick Whittington

brought to you from First Family Entertainment. Jonathan, a great friend of the Waterside having hosted

the theatre’s opening celebrations last year will be joined on stage by renowned actress Gillian Wright

as the quirky Fairy Bow Bells. Family favourite Gillian is known nationally for her role as Jean Slater in

Since winning the prestigious Cameron Mackintosh Young Entertainer of the Year Award at the age of

seventeen Jonathan Wilkes hasn’t looked back – enjoying huge success in TV, theatre and music. A

stunning career in theatre and the West End has seen Jonathan take the lead in smash-hit shows including

Godspell, The Rocky Horror Show, Grease, Guys and Dolls, Tommy, We Will Rock You, The Wedding

Singer…. the list goes on. He has just finished a smash-hit run of Chicago in the West End.

His debut single Just Another Day went straight into the UK Top 20 and enjoyed top 5 success in 18

countries worldwide. Jonathan sang with Robbie Williams on his Number 1 selling album, DVD and video,

Swing When You’re Winning and joined Robbie on his Close Encounters World Tour. Alongside this

Jonathan is well known for his TV work, presenting prime-time shows such as ITV’s You’ve Been Framed

and Love On A Saturday Night.

If that’s not enough Jonathan is a true panto star with 5 years of leading all-star panto casts under his belt

for First Family Entertainment to huge acclaim.

Gillian Wright, no stranger to Panto herself, has performed across the UK and at the West End’s Donmar

Warehouse and Lyric Hammersmith in shows such as The Children’s Hour, Tell Me and Lady Audley’s

Secret. Gillian scored a great success in And All The Children Cried in the original production and most

recently Yours Abundantly at the Oval Playhouse. Gillian appeared in the film Calendar Girls and TV

appearances include Holby City, Doctors, Heartbeat, Family Affairs, Coronation Street, Dalziel and

Pascoe, Silent Witness, and Spooks. She can currently be seen on our screens as Jean Slater in award

winning soap Eastenders.

Jonathan and Gillian will be joined by Suzanne Carley as the feisty Alice. Suzanne performed with

Jonny in Panto’s on Strike and her professional stage debut playing the lead role of Sandy in the number

one national tour of Grease. Since then she has performed on Blood Brothers, eXtra Factor, Over The

Rainbow and has most recently been seen presenting a new TV programme Ultimate Car Tuning on Sky.

The boo-able baddy, King Rat will be played by Steven Serling a panto pro, most recently seen playing the

role of David in the acclaimed production of Company at the Southwark Playhouse,The Dentist in The Little

Shop of Horrors and a rather unusual character of Mercury Man for a new Xbox game promotion.

Will our Dick and his loyal feline friend Tommy find the Aylesbury streets paved with gold? Will he win the

hand of the lovely Alice and defeat the boo-able King Rat? You will have to get down to the Waterside to
