Out of the Blue New Theatre Oxford Monday 11th – Tuesday 12th June
After what has been a sensational year appearing on Britain’s Got Talent and touring to Spain, France
and California, Oxford’s very own all-male vocal sensation Out of the Blue are back in their natural
territory at the Oxford New Theatre – and can’t wait for the thrill of performing to a home crowd.
This student a cappella collective are well on their way to becoming one of Oxford’s youngest
institutions, having made a name for themselves selling their unique and electrifying blend of energy on
stages of all sizes up and down the country.
Since they last performed at the New Theatre, Out of the Blue have won much popular and critical
acclaim for their performances on Britain’s Got Talent, where Michael McIntyre described them
as “brilliant”, and Louis Walsh declared that “The Royal Family really need to see this”. Since then, the
group has achieved their fifth sell-out run at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe, performed for the Prime
Minister, and toured to San Francisco and Los Angeles. You can see their first round and semi-final
performances here and here.
However, the highlight of the year for these boys is their annual showcase at home in Oxford, and for
the very first time the group is performing for two, action-packed consecutive nights, complete with
professional lights, sound and more. Their dazzling shows have earned them many rave reviews:
“A show that marries comically choreographed routines with bags of energy and confidence and singing
that… can be more harmonically inventive than a song deserves.” (The Herald)
“Pure, simple entertainment” ***** (What’s on Stage)
“If you don’t enjoy this you’re officially the curmudgeon of the millennium” (The Scotsman)
Out of the Blue are also proud of their connection to Helen & Douglas House, the world’s first children’s

concert provides a great opportunity for the group to show support by raising money for a cause that is
very close to their hearts.

they sweep you along on a wave of enthusiasm. Expect boyish charm, outrageously unprofessional
choreography and occasionally intentional comedy. Expect witty mash-ups, cool classics, and soothing
slower numbers. Above all, expect to be blown away.
