Olly Murs, Rizzle Kicks, Matt Cardle, Alexandra Burke and a host of other special guests
wowed the ‘girl-only’ audience at the exclusive event for Guides, all aged 10 and above.
The event was hosted by children’s TV presenter, former Brownie and daredevil Helen
Skelton.
Girls travelled from across the UK to attend the event – from North Devon to North
Yorkshire. The gig has become a firm favourite in the guiding calendar since it was
established 12 years ago.
Tracey Murray, Chair of Guiding Development, said: “People often ask me what Guides do
– I wish I could take them to the Big Gig to show them!
“Because it’s just the girls, they feel completely uninhibited so there’s lots of screaming!
“We keep the guiding programme fresh by asking the girls what they want to do and so
our diverse programme offers the adventures that are relevant to today’s girls, from rock
climbing and quad biking to watching Olly Murs perform live.”
