JOHNNY DEPP AT OXFORD UNION AND THE European Premiere of The Rum Diary

The big screen adaptation of his late friend Hunter S Thompson‘s book premiered in London on Thursday. The pair became close friends when Depp portrayed the journalist in the big-screen version of his drug-fuelled book Fear And Loathing In Las Vegas. In The Rum Dairy, Depp plays freelance journalist Paul Kemp, who moves from New York to Puerto Rico where he begins the habit of drinking rum. He also becomes obsessed with a woman called Chenault, played by Amber Heard. The story is based on Thompson’s own experience of working on the Caribbean island. members ot the union were allowed to  watch The Rum Diary at a special screening before Depp arrived. The Hollywood actor’s visit had prompted such demand that organisers held a ballot for the 500 tickets. Some 1,200 people applied for the places. Afterwards the actor held a special reception for 15 people interested in journalism. earliry this week  Depp was at  European Premiere of  The Rum Diary held at the Odeon Kensington withAmber Heard.  The Rum Diary is said to be one of Depp’s bigger box office flops its not makeing as much money as they would like,but that dont  make it a flop! So go watch the film and make your own mind up.
